Xe Bea collection is born from a deep connection with the city of Venice, explored and observed from every angle, studied and photographed, listened to. The name Xe Bea refers to the everyday detail of simple speech that can express an idea in an essential way—a quality intrinsic to the Venetian language. From this expressive authenticity derives the shape of the objects, which, while recalling the past and the history of this city, outline its future and reaffirm its uniqueness.
Xe Bea gathers all the shades and suggestions of the place, balanced with elegance and innovation. The materials, never “bold” but rather softly whispered, are used naturally to enhance their intrinsic qualities. The journey starts from tubular iron, explicitly recalling the 1960s, moves through colored glass as a tribute to Venetian tradition, continues with terrazzo, characteristic of Venetian home floors, and ends with the texture of leather and fabrics. The colors, all inspired by Venice, embrace the materials: the bronze hues of glass workshops, the blush pink of brocades, the bright red, watery blue, the transparent green of the lagoon, and the strong gray of slate.
The search for simple, functional, authentic yet dynamic, elegant, and playful forms was the foundation of Xe Bea’s design, which presents itself as an eclectic collection. It combines “classic” pieces, distilled and redesigned with imagination, with new, refined, and often forgotten elements. The object that inspired the creation of Xe Bea, and that expresses this desire to value the simple and everyday things of the city, is precisely the essential item in the lives of Venetians: the walkways for high water (acqua alta).
